MEETINGHOUSE RESTORATION

In  the  middle  of  March  Foster’s  Professional  Painting Company began scraping the exterior of the Meetinghouse in preparation for painting.

Since the steeple was removed in January 2006
the Project has received 652 donations and 9 grants. It is has been recognized by state agencies (NH Preservation Alliance 2007 Seven to Save List) and the Governor and Council (2009).

Many thanks to all the people who have generously donated money and volunteered labor to keep the Project moving toward completion. Kudos to Kathi Bradt for writing so many successful grant applications. Without the funds that have been received through grants the Project would have never progressed to its current status.

To make a donation visit the Acworth Meetinghouse Restoration Project website.

The   Acworth  Meetinghouse  Restoration  Project  recently received  a  $130,000  grant  from  the  New Hampshire Land and Community Heritage Investment Program, LCHIP. The grant application was written to provide for completion of the building's exterior including clapboard, trim, window and door repairs and preparation and painting of all outside surfaces.

The Meetinghouse Restoration Committee was able to raise enough money for the requisite 1/2 match of $65,000.
